Diseases Caused by Proximity to Gas Stations

Dr. Roger Jean Charles says that proximity to petroleum products, especially diesel, is one of the causes of high blood pressure. Smoke from vehicle engines can cause asthma, breast and blood cancer. Diesel smoke contributes to a deterioration of the population’s health.
Dr. Charles deplores the proliferation of gas stations in the residential neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince and regrets the passivity of authorities who haven't done anything to prevent the spread of those diseases, radio Television Metropole reports. Continue reading
